Patna: A 19-year-old teenager, identified as Harsh alias Yash Kumar, was shot dead over an old dispute at Kothia village under Didarganj police station area of Patna district late Thursday night.Harsh, son of Raju Yadav, after having dinner was resting at home when he was called by four youths from neighbouring Mahmadpur village, alleged family members. The accused took him to a field near the village and shot him in the chest before fleeing, they said.Locals rushed to the spot after hearing gunshots. Harsh was taken to Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) in a critical condition, but he died before reaching the hospital.The family members alleged that police reached the NMCH nearly two hours after the incident, only after senior officers were called. “When we informed about the murder, the local police asked us to submit an application,” a family member alleged.SP (rural) Kundan Kumar and Fatuha SDPO-1 Awdhesh Kumar will lead the investigation. An FSL team was called to collect scientific evidence from the crime spot.“CCTV footage from nearby areas is being scanned. Raids are underway to arrest the suspects. Initial police probe suggests the case may be linked to a personal dispute or old rivalry. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem at the NMCH. Additional police force has been deployed in the village amid tension,” Fatuha SDPO-1 said.
