Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) is set to commence its undergraduate (UG) Semester VI examinations of the academic session 2023-27 from Monday. The examinations will be conducted at 40 designated centres located in colleges across Patna and Nalanda districts of the state.According to PPU examination controller Manoj Kumar, approximately 80,000 students including girls from the arts, science and commerce streams will appear for the examinations. These include regular candidates who are nearing the completion of their undergraduate studies, he said.“To ensure smooth and fair conduct, the university has deployed 12 flying squad teams. These teams will conduct surprise inspections at examination centres to prevent malpractice and maintain the integrity of the examination process,” examination controller said. He added that the exams will be held in two sittings each day with the first sitting scheduled from 10 am to 1 pm and the second sitting from 2 pm to 5 pm.“In view of the large number of candidates and to maintain order, Section 144 of the BNSS (Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita) will be enforced in and around all examination centres throughout the examination period. This measure prohibits unlawful assembly and is aimed at preventing any disruption,” Kumar said adding static magistrate will be deployed at each centre also.According to PPU examination controller, the district administrations of both Patna and Nalanda districts have been directed to ensure adequate security arrangements and maintain law and order at all centres. Besides, coordination between local authorities and university administration has been strengthened to handle any unforeseen situations, he said.Each centre superintendent has been asked to make all possible arrangements for supply of safe drinking water and availability of medical first aids to meet any emergency needs during examination period in sultry weather condition, he said.
