A former WWE talent regrets teasing a fight with the legendary Big Show.
Paul Wight has worked for AEW since 2021 in a backstage role while also competing in a few matches. The majority of Wight’s career was spent in WWE as Big Show, beginning with his debut in February 1999, and he would go on to have an impressive run for nearly 20 years.
While Big Show was known for perhaps the most babyface and heel turns in pro wrestling history, he was also a 4-time WWE World Champion who also held the WCW World Title twice.
There is no doubt that Show is a WWE Hall of Famer, but because he works for AEW, that induction hasn’t happened yet.
When it comes to big men in pro wrestling history, the 7-footer who tipped the scales at over 400 pounds for many years of his career will always be remembered for being a larger-than-life character who beat many opponents with his devastating Chokeslam.
Jonathan Coachman Regretted Altercation With Big Show In WWE
Away from the ring, Big Show had a reputation as a lovable giant who was known for having a great sense of humor. After his wrestling days were winding down, Show even got to star in his own sitcom on Netflix, “The Big Show Show.”
There were many times in his career when Show was pushed as a lovable giant, and he was there to entertain the fans. However, like many in pro wrestling, Show could bring out the nasty side as well, and as the biggest man on the WWE roster, he was intimidating.
During a recent episode of his Coach And Bro show, former WWE announcer and occasional wrestler Jonathan Coachman was asked whether he had any issues with wrestlers during his WWE career. That led to Coach revealing that he nearly got into a fight with Show, which Coach regretted.
“Me and Big Show got into it a couple of times. I thought I was gonna die overseas in Afghanistan when he slammed a soda can on my chest. I got up Vince, and I squared up. Like it was time to go. We were at 37,000 feet. And after everything calmed down, I thought to myself: ‘What the hell did I just do?’
