Dhanbad Protest: Hindu Organizations Condemn Alleged Atrocities in Bangladesh | Ranchi News

Dhanbad: A protest was organised at Randhir Verma Chowk in Dhanbad on Sunday to condemn the alleged atrocities against the Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest was organised by the Sanatan Dharma Jagran Samiti, Dhanbad, and witnessed the participation of a large number of Hindu organisations, social groups and others.Several affiliate organisations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) took part in the demonstration. Prominent among them were the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and hundreds of workers from the BJP. Members of various social organisations and educationists also joined the sit-in, expressing strong resentment against the Bangladesh govt over the alleged persecution of minorities.Addressing the gathering, Dhanbad MP Dulu Mahato said that atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh would not be tolerated. He asserted that Hindu organisations across the country are united on this issue and will continue to raise their voice until the Bangladesh govt is compelled to ensure the safety and dignity of the Hindu community. He called upon the Indian govt to take the matter seriously and intervene at the appropriate level.Former MP P N Singh, MLA Raj Sinha and former MLA Aparna Sen Gupta were also present at the protest and expressed their solidarity with the cause.Later, a memorandum, addressed to the President of India, was submitted to the deputy commissioner of Dhanbad in which the Centre was urged to intervene diplomatically and exert pressure on the Bangladesh govt to stop the atrocities and ensure the protection of minorities.Eminent educationist Pramod Kumar Jha, while addressing the gathering, alleged that since May 2024, members of the Hindu community in Bangladesh have been subjected to inhuman treatment as part of a well-planned conspiracy. He claimed that incidents of attacks on temples, looting of property and brutal killings have been reported repeatedly, which is a matter of grave concern. He emphasised that this is not merely an issue concerning one community but a blatant violation of human rights. The speakers collectively demanded that the central govt adopt a firm stand at international forums to safeguard the lives, property and religious freedom of Hindus living in Bangladesh. They warned that if the atrocities do not stop, the movement would be intensified and expanded to the national level in the coming days.
