Brazilian President dials PM Modi: Reaffirm India-Brazil partnership; discuss global issues

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra on Thursday had a telephonic exchange with Brazilian President Luiz Inacia Lula De Silva.According to a statement by the ministry of external affairs, both the leaders reaffirmed their commitments to strengthen India-Brazil strategic partnership“Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephone call today from the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the India–Brazil Strategic Partnership and take it to even greater heights in the year ahead,” MEA said.“The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. They also underscored the importance of reformed multilateralism in addressing shared challenges.” it added.

During the exchange, PM Modi also invited Lula to visit India at an early date.“Prime Minister Modi conveyed that he looked forward to welcoming President Lula to India at an early date,” the ministry said.
