Music composer James Vasanthan has issued a clear explanation regarding the recent incident where his car’s glass was damaged. The issue had earlier created confusion after his initial social media post hinted at a possible external angle. On closer inspection, he seems to admit his mistakes and misjudgements in public. His statement clarified the situation while addressing the questions people asked.
Misjudgment about the parking spot led to the incident
Explaining the situation, James Vasanthan said that he had parked his car in what appeared to be an empty space, as reported by The Hindu. The area was covered with blue metal sheets, which made it look like a vacant plot or a construction site. Since it was a hot Sunday afternoon and no one was around, the place seemed safe to park. Only later did he learn that a house was actually located further inside the property. This misunderstanding turned out to be one of the key reasons behind the incident.

The composer revealed that they noticed the damage only after driving some distance. A strange sound led them to check, and they saw the glass slowly shattering. Initially, due to the heat, his wife thought the glass might have cracked on its own. But James Vasanthan suspected it was caused by an external hit. Since he had faced criticism online the previous day, he briefly assumed it could be linked. He recorded and shared a video online, which later led to widespread discussions.

After a police inquiry, it was found that the property owner caused the damage because the car had been parked in front of their house. James Vasanthan confessed that his use of specific words in the blog caught people’s attention and placed the submission in a different light. He was sorry for what he had done, citing that he should have been more careful, particularly after being in the media for a long time. He also said that he learned from the experience since making a mistake with minor content could result in a major issue.
