Another action-packed day in the NBA playoffs is in store as a quadruple-header of postseason games are on the schedule for Saturday, April 25.
First up are the 1 vs. 8 matchups in the Eastern and Western conferences, followed by the 3 vs. 6 matchups.
After the Orlando Magic stole Game 1 against the top-seeded Detroit Pistons to begin their series, Cade Cunningham and Co. restored order to even the series. The Pistons, who won their first home playoff game since 2008 in Game 2 earlier this week, are slight favorites (-2.5) for Game 3 on the road.
The top seed in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder, have had no such problems in their first two games against eighth-seeded Phoenix Suns, winning by an average of 24 points. The Thunder, at -9.5 road favorites for Game 3, look to be the second Western Conference team to take a 3-0 series lead in the playoffs, joining the Los Angeles Lakers, who won an overtime thriller over the Kevin Durant-less Houston Rockets on April 24.
The day continues with a pair of 3 vs. 6 Game 4s where the lower seeds have the series leads.
In the Eastern Conference, it’s the New York Knicks (3) vs. Atlanta Hawks (6) to begin the evening slate of games. The Hawks are seeking a 3-1 series lead after one-point wins in consecutive games. A game after CJ McCollum scored a game-high 32 points to lead Atlanta to a comeback victory at Madison Square Garden in Game 2, he hit the game-winner on a fadeaway with 12.5 seconds to lift the Hawks to a 109-108 win. Can Jalen Brunson and the Knicks respond?
The same can be said about Nikola Jokic and the third-seeded Denver Nuggets, who have lost the last two games to the sixth-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. On the other side, Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves are seeking to take a commanding 3-1 series lead and get closer to eliminating the Nuggets for a second straight season.
