The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is about as highly anticipated as a game has ever been, and there are millions of players the world over who are just waiting in the wings for their first chance to play it.
The timeline so far has been a pretty interesting one, with two official delays communicated to the public over the last couple of years. As such, GTA VI is now scheduled to arrive on November 19, and that means that we have just passed a pretty important milestone that should get the hype train moving even faster.
GTA 6 Is Closer Than It’s Ever Been To Release
Over on Twitter/X, the aptly named GTA 6 Countdown shared a post confirming that we have officially hit the seven months to launch mark, meaning that as of the time of writing, we are closer to the launch of the game than we have ever been before.
Assuming that we don’t get another delay to break our collective hearts, we will likely be getting another trailer in a few months time, before the proverbial road is cleared for the big day. As you might expect, the responses were quite excited at the revelation.
“How much content will we see on GTA VI in these months? Gameplay trailer, how many screenshots? From that thought my heart beats even harder,” one said.
Others were considerably less confident, with one saying, “7 months still feels like forever after all the delays. Do you actually believe Rockstar will stick to this November date without pushing it again?”
The uncomfortable fact does remain that Rockstar has remained notably hush, hush since dropping the second trailer for the game, so until we get a third trailer or news of pre-orders, it might be good to just temper that excitement a little bit.
Could GTA 6 Be Delayed Again?
In all likelihood, GTA VI will not be delayed again, and Rockstar has some form for delaying games twice before finally giving them to us (looking at you, Red Dead Redemption 2). That said, there is a remote possibility that it simply becomes unavoidable, and if we are going to get another delay, then it will more than likely be confirmed during Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call in May.
If we get past that, the runway to launch looks pretty clear, so let’s hope the game is as good as we’re all expecting when it does finally get here.
