'Aadu 3' box office collections day 1: Jayasurya film opens strong; Crosses Rs 6 crore
‘Aadu 3’, starring Jayasurya, has taken the box office by storm, garnering over Rs 6 crore on its first day alone and establishing itself as one of the top openers in Kerala. This film brings an exciting time-travel twist to the adventures of Shaji Pappan alongside a local king.

Jayasurya‘s newly released comedy entertainer ‘Aadu 3’ has taken a great opening at the box office. Released amid high expectations, the film managed to cross the Rs 6 crore mark on its opening day.

Day 1 collections cross Rs 6 crore

According to early estimates by the Sacnilk website, ‘Aadu 3’ collected a net of Rs 6.00 crore on Day 1. This takes its total gross collections to approximately Rs 6.96 crore.

Among top Kerala openers

With its Day 1 figures Aadu 3 has joined the list of top opening day grossers in Kerala. It stands alongside big-ticket releases like Mohanlal’s ‘L2: Empuraan’, Yash starrer ‘KGF Chapter 2’, and Mammootty’s ‘Bheeshma Parvam’. Other films in the list include Beast, Turbo, and The Goat Life (Aadujeevitham).

Aadu 3 brings a new narrative twist

In ‘Aadu 3’ the story takes a different turn with a time-travel and multiple timeline narrative. The film takes a non-linear structure as Jayasurya reprises his iconic role as Shaji Pappan while also portraying a local king, Padmanabha Thamburan. Actors like Vinayakan and Sunny Wayne and others appear in distinct roles across timelines.

Mixed reviews

While the film has opened well, critical response remains mixed. The ETimes review highlighted both strengths and shortcomings of the film. Our review reads, “The songs by Shaan Rahman and the background score by Dawn Vincent work well, and there are a few comic dialogues and moments—like the High Range Che Guevara reference—that make you laugh heartily. However, apart from these, there is little that stands out as worthy of a third installment in the franchise. The supposed comedy, unfortunately, feels forced in places, and there is little spontaneity or organic humor in situations that are meant to be funny. The length of the film also feels unwarranted, given that this part serves more as a build-up than a film in itself. Even when evaluated through the lens of a spoof, it is not inventive enough.”DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
