Lil Wayne concert in Des Moines: How to get tickets

to tell us all about what’s going on there now and what’s been happening throughout the day, Martin. Well, Kevin, it is about to wrap up here, but about one more hour of music, but it’s still very loud. The band Metallica is playing on stage right now. I’m going to have photographer John Anglem kind of zip past. Here and give you *** closer look at the big stage that’s here on the infield of the state fair grandstand. Lollapalooza is rather *** strange creature to describe. It’s part rock concert and part circus, but whatever the attraction is, it’s an attraction that really seems to work. It works because it promises lots of different acts for lots of different musical tastes, so the show also brings out lots of different opinions. It’s grooving. We’re grooving, and it’s grooving. It’s, I suppose, on *** scale of 1 to 10, it’s about *** 4 today. It’s fantastic. Can I, I don’t know if you can say that the chicks are great. Can you say that on TV? If there’s *** common thread among these different people, it’s the heat. The sun beat down on concertgoers all day, so they all brought water, some in jugs, some in bottles, but they couldn’t bring their water too far. That’s right. All the water to fight off the heat had to stay outside. That brought about another common opinion. Oh, that’s really bum. Oh, you can’t. I didn’t know that. Yeah, I’m gonna have to drink all my water before I go in because these won’t let me, you know what? See, I’m, I’m here to drink it, drink it. But the different people here to see their favorite acts, which themselves are pretty different, still pack the state fair grandstand with or without their own water. Lollapalooza, it seems, will draw them in no matter what. You’re looking at another live picture here of the band Metallica wrapping up Lollapalooza in 1996 out at the state fairgrounds. The concert officials said that they thought maybe 20,000 people would be here. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow or within the next couple of days to find out for sure just how many people were here. As far as the heat problems, there really weren’t that many, perhaps 3 or 4, according to Des Moines police, 3 or 4 people that suffered from heat related problems that were taken to the hospital. About 10 minutes ago we saw an ambulance. Into the infield here we’re not sure what that was all about. From our vantage point that’d be pretty tough to tell. But one other thing that Des Moines police said about this Lollapalooza, at least as of *** couple of hours ago, it was *** big crowd that sure seemed to be pretty well behaved. Kevin and Jeannette.
