Sources: Giants to hire Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator

Date:

The New York Giants will hire Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Nagy spent the past three seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs‘ offensive coordinator and had been linked to multiple head coaching vacancies and offensive coordinator openings this offseason.

Nagy’s contract in Kansas City expired last month. Although Kansas City brought back Eric Bieniemy to replace him as offensive coordinator, Chiefs coach Andy Reid recently advocated for Nagy to get a head coaching job.

Nagy will have a high-profile role in New York under new coach John Harbaugh and second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The Giants had been linked to Todd Monken, Harbaugh’s offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens who ultimately was hired to become the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns.
