PSSSB Junior Engineer recruitment 2026: The Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB) will close the online application process for Junior Engineer (JE) recruitment 2026 tomorrow, January 27, 2026.Candidates who are eligible and have not applied yet should complete their application as soon as possible on the official website.
Total vacancies and engineering branches
PSSSB is recruiting 157 Junior Engineers through this recruitment drive. The posts are divided into the following engineering disciplines:
- Civil Engineering: 147 posts
- Mechanical Engineering: 9 posts
- Electrical Engineering: 1 post
The recruitment has been announced through Advertisement Numbers 15/2025 and 16/2025.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must have a degree or diploma in the relevant engineering branch.
- Age limit: 18 to 37 years
- Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per Punjab government rules.
Application fee details
The application fee depends on the candidate’s category:
- General / Other categories: ₹1,500
- Scheduled Caste / Backward Class (Punjab only): ₹750
- Ex-Servicemen, EWS, Persons with Disabilities, Lineal Descendants of Ex-Servicemen (Punjab only): ₹500
The fee must be paid online only through the PSSSB website.Candidates should carefully upload all required documents, photographs, and certificates before submitting the form.The last date for fee payment has also been extended along with the application deadline.
Selection process
The selection will happen in two stages:
- Written examination
- Document verification
Written exam pattern
- Total questions: 120 multiple-choice questions
- Time duration: 2 hours
- Each question carries 1 mark
- 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer
Marks distribution:
- Engineering subject questions: 80 marks
- General knowledge, current affairs, Punjab history, reasoning, English, Punjabi, and ICT: 40 marks
Candidates who pass the written exam will be called for document verification.
Salary and benefits
Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.Basic monthly salary: ₹35,400In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive:
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Travel Allowance (TA)
