Top Rumor of the Day: Why WWE cut Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black & Zelina Vega
According to The Observer, the Wyatts were cut because “It was just felt that the group had run its course. Even at first there were those who saw it as a short-term idea.” In other words, WWE thought that being a Bray Wyatt tribute act was a limited gimmick that didn’t have long term viability.
As far as releasing Black and Vega is concerned, it was “just a decision made on who they weren’t going to do anything more with.” Even though WWE worked hard to get Black to leave AEW and return last year, they never really came up with any great ideas for how to use him on their programming.
Finally, WON gives a reason to think Zelina might not be heading to AEW: “[Tony Khan] did negotiate with Zelina when she was let go the last time, but she pretty much ghosted him and signed back [with WWE].”
